Internet Plans FX Networks

Our internet plans connect you nationally and globally at very high speeds. Pricing is very straightforward with plans offered on a flat-rate, fixed-cost basis with no volume charges. What’s more, you can customise your internet connection by combining one of our 4 international plans with one of our 3 national plans. Not all combinations are possible, so please see the table at the bottom of this page to check we can deliver your preferred option.

International plans

BURST

Burst offers a traditional “best effort” internet connection based on a maximum inbound international bandwidth available to your business. For example, if you choose a Burst1000 plan you get international download at up to 1000Kbps (1Mbps).

Is it for you?

Burst is an affordable option that’s better than most. It’s ideal for smaller businesses, say with 5 to 20 employees, or if you’re looking for reliable backup to the service you get from your main provider.

Unlimited@Night

Burst can be coupled with our Unlimited@Night service. With Unlimited@Night, we take the brakes off international internet between the hours of 9pm and 6am. This means you can schedule overnight updates (virus, operating system, backups etc) at very high speeds.

CONNECT

Our Connect plans have – but are not limited to – an assured minimum data rate. So, if you choose a Connect200 plan you get international download at no less than 200Kbps up to a maximum speed of 10Mbps. You also get an assured data rate on our backbone network, and our very best efforts beyond that.

Is it for you?

Connect is designed for businesses that need high performance internet – no matter what. The service is ideal if you have applications that need a committed bandwidth, or if you need an additional level of certainty of service. Typically, a Connect customer will be a medium-sized business with 20 to 50 employees.

TRANSIT

Our Transit plans provide a service assurance to deliver an international pipe at a specified speed – no more and no less. These plans come standard with advanced network services such as ActiveRoute and DoS-Quench.

Is it for you?

Transit plans are designed for largely or wholly internet-based businesses. These include hosting companies, ISPs, and other businesses whose livelihoods depend on being connected.

OneExchange

Imagine ISPs being able to connect over FX Networks’ backbone. That can happen.

OneExchange gives you high speed connectivity to every internet exchange that FX Networks is connected to, plus FX Networks peering partners and customers at 10 or 100Mbps. This also means youre able to get internet transit from other ISPs via the FX Networks’ Internet backbone if you want.

We have double redundant 1Gbps connections into the WIX (Wellington), the APE (Auckland) and others. We combine this into something we call OneExchange. OneExchange enables all FX Networks customers to always get the fastest, most cost effective connection to other people connected (peered) to the New Zealand Internet - no matter what city they are in.

OneExchange combines that together so you have cohesive connectivity with your peers in a distributed fashion - without the need to establish a connection in each city yourself.

National plans

BASE

The Base plan gives you shared access to our backbone network. It’s a classic "best-effort" service that provides access to the internet in New Zealand at up to 100Mbps.

Is it for you?

The base plan provides excellent connectivity if you just want to connect to the internet and don’t rely on guaranteed minimum service levels.

Plus

The Plus plan also provides shared access to our backbone network at speeds up to 100Mbps.The difference is an assured level of service quality defined in terms of latency and packet loss. Metrics included in the service level agreement are:

  • Latency: <30ms roundtrip
  • Packet loss: <0.1%
  • Part of at least 10 service level metrics
Is it for you?

This is for customers who want to use the ISP backbone for the transfer of critical business information which can include encrypted traffic, voice and videoconferencing.

Service levels are supported across the backbone at 100Mbps. This is between connected offices via shared fibre access networks such CityLink and Vector. The service level agreement only applies between sites that are directly connected to the FX network via CityLink and Vector.  Please explore our WAN services.  if you are interested in even higher performance Pipeline services across our network.

PREMIUM

The Premium plan offers dedicated direct connections up to 1Gbps. The service level agreement provides for serious industrial strength backbone connectivity to the internet. Metrics are:

  • Latency: <30ms roundtrip
  • Packet loss: <0.1%
  • Jitter: <15ms

The service level agreement only applies between sites connected direct to the FX network via dedicated connections on the CityLink or Vector networks.

Is it for you?
