FX has over 4,200kms of inter-city fibre optic cable laid in the ground throughout New Zealand. The investment and rollout of the network has been extensive. Our WAN Services are built on top of the proven FX MPLS backbone. We’re flexible about how we reach you, or how you reach us. We will select the best fit access network provider based on your needs. We simply make sure your connection with us, is the best fit it can be.
Our business model is based on new technology and new thinking. We pride ourselves on being open and transparent in the way we provide service. We aim to remain a tightly focused service provider that consistently delivers its customers the best value for money service available.
Our Layer 3 VPN WAN service is a fully managed solution that includes routing management between sites and automatic failover where required. FX Networks shapes the access speed at each site to ensure the required load is balanced between all customer locations. CLNE (Routers and Switches) at each site are supplied and managed by FX Networks.
As an option for additional resiliency at ‘High Availability sites’ we can include diverse access tails. If the main connection fails the redundant fibre/copper/wireless link will automatically take over.
FX Networks also has created an Ethernet over MPLS infrastructure, providing a shared, distributed MPLS Layer 3 Virtual Private Routed Network (VPRN) overlay. This overlay is able to support hundreds of individual Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). These VPNs support both IPv4 and IPv6 addressing.
The VPN services are ‘attached’ to an access circuit (or circuits), which transports the service to customer sites. At that point the service is terminated into the customer premises equipment that ‘unloads’ the traffic onto the customer Local Area Network.
FX Networks InterHealth brings together the health sector’s most revolutionary online initiative Connected Health with the country’s most revolutionary inter-city fibre network. Greater efficiency, a better-informed industry and the highest standards of privacy were the watchwords of the Ministry of Health in establishing the Connected Health initiative, and FX Networks has been with the industry every ultra-fast step of the way since the new system began to evolve in 2007.
FX Networks offers ‘User to Network Interface’ (UNI) business-grade services for both UNI-4 and UNI-5:
• UNI4: Single end point
• UNI5: Multiple end points
Our services meet and exceed the Connected Health architectural principles and guidelines for Openness, Standards, Security, Performance, Interface definition, Availability, and Extensibility.
